About Your Shoot
What to expect from your photography session
Before the shoot
Once we have agreed a date, working out the timing of the shoot around your family routine is important, particularly for young children. Soon after a sleep and breakfast/lunch time are ideal as children tend to be in better moods and more cooperative!
What to bring
Keeping kids fed and watered, as well as entertained, is important (I have learnt this the hard way!). Have some snacks, drinks and something to keep them occupied in between photos. Although try to avoid anything too messy that may spoil their clothes.
What to wear
It’s important you feel comfortable going into the shoot. Photos are something you will look back on for many years so it’s natural you want you and your family to look their best. It’s best to avoid logos or clashing colours, as they can be distracting. Plainer colour blocks also work well.
Think…FUN!
I want you to enjoy your lifestyle session. It should feel like a little afternoon out, so the more you think of it like that the better. Think less formal school photos, and more jumping in puddles! Kids can sense if they are being coerced into certain poses, so keeping them having fun is important.
