A lifestyle family portrait & landscape photographer in Brighton, Sussex. I love connecting with the world around me, and the power of lasting images.
I was born and raised in the beautiful countryside of Sussex, and now living by the sea in Brighton. I’m a husband and father of two, and family is a big part of my life. Since a young age i’ve had a passion for photography, which became more influential once my daughter was born in 2018. Over the last three years my photography has developed to become something much more, with a portfolio of family lifestyle shoots, headshots and Christenings. Through training courses, online learning and practical experience, my love of photography continues to grow and develop.
Having children means I can easily connect with kids of all ages, although younger ones will often do their best not to comply during a photo shoot! That is part of the challenge and fun of family portrait photography. Alongside photography I run a martial arts club (teaching kids is also useful experience), and run a small local charity called Jane’s Wish. Life is there to live, and it’s important to collect those memories along the way with some great pictures.
My style
I believe in the power of natural, honest photos that show us as our true selves. A great image is one that tells a story, and this is what I want to capture in my photos. Using natural light, and interesting locations, are the two things most important to a good shoot.
I’m a very relaxed and down to earth guy, which helps to keep the people I photograph just as relaxed! Rather than focusing on more staged poses, i’d rather let you relax into the shoot which allows me to blend into the background more. The feedback I get from family sessions is that they feel at ease, which always makes for better results.
